Servers in the European Union
Reelwire runs on servers of Hetzner Online GmbH, a German hosting provider, in the European Union. The service you sign in to, with its API, its MCP server, the rendering of your clips and the database that holds everything in your workspace, runs in Hetzner's data centre near Helsinki, Finland. Our development and test systems run in its data centre in Nuremberg, Germany.
Your content, your clips, your syndication participants and your workspace's records, the compliance record included, are stored there. What travels outside the European Union, and why, is the next section.
What leaves the European Union
Reelwire is run by a sole trader in Mexico, who reaches the servers from there to operate and support the service. A few providers outside the European Union do one job each:
- Postmark (United States) sends our emails, including the ones that hand your posts over and the ones to your syndication participants.
- Google (United States) keeps our mailboxes, which hold what you write to us.
- Stripe (United States) takes payments, as a controller of its own.
- Google reCAPTCHA protects signing in and our forms, and Google Analytics measures the website only if you agree to it.
Each receives only what its job needs, under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission's standard contractual clauses. The services you choose yourself receive what you send them, wherever they are: the AI services you connect with your own keys, the platforms your connectors post to, your webhooks and your syndication participants.
