What this statement covers

The Reelwire website, its documentation, the checkout and the Reelwire application, and the pages and emails Reelwire sends for its customers: syndication sign-up pages, post kits and the emails that come with them.

The standard we work to

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA, which the European standard EN 301 549 builds on. The sites are partially conformant with it: most of what they offer can be used with a keyboard, a screen reader and the browser's zoom, and some parts cannot yet, as the next section says.

Nobody independent has audited them yet. This statement is our own assessment of how they are built and how they behave.

What we know falls short

  • The video clips Reelwire renders come without a subtitle or caption file, and the words drawn in a clip are not offered as text in the player. Every clip is handed over with its post text, which is where a clip's content can be told in words for the people who cannot see or hear it.
  • Some templates show figures in charts and animation alone, without the same figures in text beside them.
  • The example clips on the website have no captions or audio description.
  • In the application, some details appear in a card that opens when the pointer rests on them, and some tables with many columns are hard to follow with a screen reader.
  • What a customer publishes with Reelwire is the customer's own content, and its accessibility is theirs to decide.

Tell us
